Vesta Virginia Bowman, 84, of Augusta, WV passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Hampshire Center, Romney, WV.

Born on March 30, 1939 in Shanks, WV, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Evans and Clara (Ruckman) Evans.

Vesta was a spitfire.  She was a proud truck driver and worked with her husband driving the East Coast, she drove at night and him during the day.  She loved her dogs and cats.  Vesta is now in her Kenworth, making her last haul up to the pearly gates.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon J. Timbrook (Roscoe) of Augusta, WV, her granddaughter, Kristina Shambaugh (Shannon) of Winchester, VA, her grandson, Richard Hott (Stacy) of Norway, Maine, and 4 great-grandchildren: Colin McCauley, Kaley McCauley, Makayla Starbird and Zachary Starbird.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Sylvia Kibler and Garland Evans.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Augusta, WV with Pastor Denzil Davis officiating.  Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Augusta, WV.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
