Verona Blanche Hurt, 71, of Slanesville, WV passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA.

Born on March 21, 1954 in Bluefield, WV, she was the daughter of the late Millard C. Ward and Nora V. (Pruitte) Ward.

Verona enjoyed crocheting, dancing and was a huge fan of Conway Twitty.  She was the life of the party and will be remembered by all who knew her for her bubbly personality.

She is survived by her husband, George William Hurt, Jr., her daughter, Anna M. Hurt of Cross Junction, VA, and her siblings, Patty Hurt of Slanesville, WV, Betty Ruth Smith of Easton, MD, Paul Ward of Savage, MD, and Michael Ward of Irons, Michigan.

Services will be held at a later date.
