Thomas "Tom" Cowie, 61, of Romney, WV died Saturday, January 24, 2026.

Born July 29, 1964 in Indiana County, PA, he was the son of Robert D. Cowie and Dorothy L. (Palmer) Cowie.

Tom worked in a variety of jobs in his life, but his most notable work was the 35 years he gave as a lineman for Potomac Edison Co. Many knew him as "the man that kept the lights on",as he went out at all hours and in all weather. But Tom was more than that. He was an animal lover and gardener. He loved to cook so much that many have had a pan of Tom's lasagna. And more than anything he loved his children, bragging about them any chance he got. Whether he was Tom, "Squirrel" or Dad, there was never a doubt about how hard he worked nor how much he cared. He touched more lives than he will ever know and he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his children, Ashley N. Chrisman (Joseph) of San Diego, CA, Courtney L. Cowie of Nashville, TN, Garrett R. Cowie (Nicole) of Salt Lake City, UT, Hannah N. Haines (Joshua) of Augusta, WV, Noah T. Cowie of Martinsburg, WV, Destini Cowie, Mariam Cowie, both of Romney, WV, Jose Cowie of Berryville, VA, Miranda Cowie of NC, Lydia Cowie of Hedgesville, WV, 7 grandchildren and his siblings, Robert and Gloria.

All services will be private and handled by McKee Funeral Home, Augusta, WV.
