Terry Cornwell French, 81, of Fort Ashby, formerly Augusta, WV, passed away on September 5, 2026 at his residence.

Born on April 2, 1945 in Romney, WV, he was the son of the late Marshall C. French and Gustava Bell (Shanholtz) French.

Terry had worked as an electrician, loved horses, Ford vehicles and most of all, his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen (Hott) French and sister, Janet Merritt.

He is survived by his 3 daughters, Kelli Sharpless of Augusta, Teresa Simmons (Frank) of Berkeley Springs, WV and Karrah Corbett (Jason) of Slanesville, WV, 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Peggy Veach and Sue Ann Burd, both of Augusta.

Funeral services will be on Friday, September 11, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at McKee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Bradfield officiating. Interment will follow at  Ebenezer Cemetery, Romney, WV. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 at the funeral home on Friday.
