Shirley Whetzel See, 86, of Mathias, WV passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Grant Rehab and Care Center, Petersburg, WV.

Born on February 20, 1939 in Cumberland, MD, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Whetzel and Nellie (Whetzel) Whetzel.

She was a member of Garrett Chapel Church and Mt. View Church of the Brethren.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond W. See, Sr. on Nov 18, 2011. She was also preceded by 2 daughters, Rebecca S. Strawderman and Dorothy Sherman, an infant son, a great-grandson and 2 sisters, Arlene and Wanda.

She is survived by her children, Raymond W. See, Jr. of Rostraver Township, PA, and Penny Poe of Baker,WV, Franklin See of Norfolk, VA, Charlie See of Highview, WV, Thomas See of Chattanooga, TN, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren including great-grandson, Jace Miller and great-granddaughter, Sage Poe.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026 at Mt. View Church of the Brethren, 2647 Lower Cove Run Rd, Mathias, WV at 1:00 P.M. with Danny Bailey and Landes Dove officiating.  Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mathias, WV. The family will receive friends on Sunday, 6-8pm, at McKee Funeral Home, Baker, WV.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. View Church.
