Sandra Virginia Ritenour Fitzwater, 77, of Rio, WV was called home to be with her Lord on Friday, April 5, 2024 at her residence.

Born on January 4, 1947 in Winchester, VA, she was the daughter of the late Cleal M. Rittenour and Margaret L. (See) Rittenour.

She had been a bus driver for Hardy Co. schools for 34 years.  She was a member of Sperry Run United Methodist Church.  She was very active in church and enjoyed helping with VBS and volunteering at the nursing home and jail ministry. Sandra was a loving mother and grandmother and her family was her pride and joy. She enjoyed gardening, farming, singing, dancing, canning, helping others, mowing grass, quilting, crocheting and baking cakes.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Webster.

She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Ann Combs (Jay) and son, Ralph L. Fitzwater, Jr. (Julie), both of Rio, WV, 3 grandchildren, Shawna Arbaugh (Hunter), Ronnie Fitzwater (Felicia), Sierra Combs (Cory Tompkins) and 3 great-grandchildren, Mia Arbaugh, Eli Arbaugh and Lane Fitzwater.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at McKee Funeral Home, Baker, WV with Pastor Loretta Brinker officiating.  Interment will be in Sperry's Run Cemetery, Rio, WV.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
