Obituary

Ruth E. Saville, 85, of Augusta, WV passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Grenich Care Home in Bunker Hill, WV surrounded by family. She was born on July 4, 1938 in Horn Camp, WV and was the daughter of the late Marvin P. and Clara V. (Pownell) Timbrook. She attended Romney High School where she met her husband of 64 years, Donald P. Saville.

Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a homemaker, farmer's wife, bookkeeper, store operator (Clear Brook and Round Hill Shopping Centers), and the License Clerk for the State of West Virginia at Charles Town Race Track. Her long hours of toil were in support of her husband, family, and friends. Her integrity, family values, and loving guidance shone through in all she did. She helped raise and support many other friends and family members during her life. Ruth had a giving heart and blessed anyone in need. She partnered with her husband and family raising "Why Jan", one of their most cherished winning race horses, that raced throughout the east coast. Ruth retired in 2000, moved to Florida with Don, and moved to Augusta, WV in 2013.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Garland (Parmilee), Harry, Harold, Rodney Timbrook and sister Eileen (Timbrook) Hott.

Ruth leaves to cherish her memory; son Edward P. Saville and wife Phyllis A. (Lane) Saville of Berryville, VA; daughter Reverend Donna S. Burgan and husband James S. of Doswell, VA; daughter Dr. Karen S. Cannon and husband Dr. Michael L. Cannon, of Lewisville, NC; three grandsons Edward P. Saville II and wife Stephanie A. (Bostic) Saville, Nathan M. Cannon and Jason N. Cannon and two great-grandsons Tyler A. Saville and Maxwell R. Saville. Additionally, she is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM at McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Augusta, WV with Pastor Robert Jeffreys officiating.  Entombment will be in Hott's Chapel Cemetery, Kirby WV.

The family will receive family and friends on Friday, 6-8 PM, at the funeral home and one hour prior  to service.
