Ruby Deloris Lee, 85, of Delray, WV, passed away peacefully at the Winchester Medical Center under the care of Blue Ridge Hospice, on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. Her daughter was by her side.

Ruby was born on August 16, 1940, in Hanging Rock, WV, the daughter of the late Melvin Eugene Lee and Fannie Belle Rudy Lee. Also preceding her in death were five brothers, Harlan Lee, Carl Lee, Robert Lee, Dwight Lee and James Lee.

Ruby was a 1958 graduate of Capon Bridge High School.

Ruby was a factory worker. She worked at Corning Glass in Martinsburg, WV. She was an excellent seamstress having worked at J Schoeneman, Manufacturer of Men’s Suits in Winchester, VA, Romney Sewing Factory, Romney WV and The Perfection Garment Co. in Martinsburg, WV. She worked at the Kinney Shoe Factory in Romney, WV until it closed at which time she started cleaning homes until her retirement.

She attended Delray Christian Church and Delray Church of Christ, where she sang in the choir.

Ruby is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Jenkins, her granddaughter, Courtney Jenkins and three great grandchildren, Payton Jenkins, Gavin Whetzel and Madelynn Lilley.

She is also survived by her two sisters, Elizabeth Lee and Paulette Lee, both of Delray WV, who were her care givers during her illness.

Ruby was a generous soul, always willing to lend a helping hand. She assisted with the fundraising dinners for the North River Valley Fire Department for many years. She loved playing softball and played the position of shortstop. She enjoyed quilting, reading, working in the yard, and numerous other pastimes. She was young at heart, and her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her granddaughter and great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
