Roger O. Whisner, 76, of Greenspring, WV passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024 at UPMC Western Maryland Hospital, Cumberland, MD.

Born on May 16, 1948 in Great Cacapon, WV, he was the son of the late Omer E. Whisner and Mabel V. (Dawson) Whisner.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Jimmy Dawson, Shirley Phares, and Douglas Whisner.

Roger was a member of the Springfield Valley Vol. Fire Company, Co. 42, Springfield Rescue Squad, a board member of Central Hampshire P.S.D. a Little League coach and a Scout Master. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but above all spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca A. (Carder) Whisner, his children, Ann Marie Ryan (Ronnie) of Romney, WV, Michelle Lee Kennell (Paul) of Cumberland, MD, and Jason Esta Whisner (Dianna) of Paw Paw, WV, grandchildren, Megan Alt, Rachel Ryan, Danielle Hershiser, Lillian Paddock, Amara Whisner, great grandson Mason King, his siblings, Walter Whisner, Evelyn Walker, Naomi Montgomery, and Barbara (Jack) Fishel, and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 7:00 P.M. at McKee Funeral Chapel, Romney, WV with Pastor Chantel Herrell officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5-7pm. There will be no graveside service.
