Robert Lee "Bud" Montgomery, Sr., 82, of Romney, WV passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at his residence.

Born on March 25, 1942 in Levels, WV, he was the son of the late Russell Montgomery and Opal (Fishel) Montgomery.

Bud was a member of Capon Chapel Church of the Brethren.  He had worked at Kinney Shoe and did drywall.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert "Dewy" Montgomery, and his siblings, Juanita Wolfe, Virginia Mae McDonald, Beatrice Lewis, and Russell "Junior" Montgomery.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty (Bennett) Montgomery, whom he married on September 24, 1959 in Oldtown, MD,  granddaughter, Gabby Shanholtz and her children, a special nephew, Bubby Lewis and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Augusta, WV with Pastor Brian Moreland officiating.  Interment will be in Branch Mt. Baptist Cemetery, Three Churches, WV.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, 6-8pm, at the funeral home.
