Obituary

Minnie Katharine Heishman, 84, of Rio, WV passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2020 surrounded by her family.

Born on June 17, 1936 in Rio, WV, she was the daughter of the late Branson Ludwig and Nerva L. (Sager) Ludwig.

Minnie was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother and a friend to those who knew her. She was a lifetime member of the Sperry's Run United Methodist Church where she was a member of the women's group for 69 years. She was a member of the Rio CEO's for over 50 years serving as the Hampshire County Belle in 2007 at the WV State Folk Festival.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Heishman, on July 18, 2019, also preceded by two sisters and seven brothers.

Surviving are two children, Dean (Sandi) Heishman of Stephens City, VA, Annette (Lane) Harpine of Emerald Isle, NC, two grandchildren, Nathaniel & Amani Harpine and a brother, Glenn Ludwig of Silver Spring, MD.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday September 17, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. in Sperry's Run Cemetery near Baker, WV with Pastor Aaron Himes officiating. Due to the Pandemic, the family  recommends people attending to wear mask.

Friends will be received at McKee Funeral Home, Baker on Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 P.M.

Memorials may be made to the Sperry's Run United Methodist Church, Alicia Ruffner, 1936 Needmore Rd., Baker, WV 26801.
