Mildred Josephine Cowgill, 84, of Slanesville, WV passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA.

Born on January 8, 1940 in Phillipi, WV, she was the daughter of the late William J. Ludwick and Mary Phillips.

Mildred had been employed at Kinney Shoes, National Fruit and Wilkins Shoe Center. She enjoyed her flowers and spending time with family.  She was a member of Mt. Union Christian Church and her faith was the center of her life.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight L. Cowgill, in 2013 and also by her siblings, Clifford Ludwick, James Ludwick and Madiline Malick.

She is survived by her children, Stephen Cowgill (Sue) of Slanesville, WV, Douglas Cowgill (Tammy), of Romney, WV, Cheryl See (Jimmy) of Purgitsville, WV, a brother, William Ludwick, Jr. of Winchester, VA, 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a special friend, Wayne Bradfield, and his entire family.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Mt. Union Christian Church, Paw Paw, WV with Pastors Chris Bishop, Robert Arnold and Tony Baker officiating.  Interment will be in Mt. Union Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Friday, 6-8pm, at McKee Funeral Home, Augusta, WV.
