Obituary

Matthew Everett Trimble, 23, of Kirby, WV passed away on August 25, 2024.
Born on December 14, 2000 in Winchester, VA, he was the son of William Trimble and Shirley Haines Trimble.
Matthew was a gentle soul who would go out of his way to help his family and anyone he could.  He was very community minded, having served on the Hampshire Co. Board of Education, the Grassy Lick Community Center, the Hampshire Co. FFA Alumni and attended Bethel Baptist Church. He was a former employee of the Hampshire Co. Assessor office where he served as Chief Evaluator of Property.  He could usually be found on the family farm that he loved, chopping wood, herding cows or numerous other chores he enjoyed.  Most of all, Matt loved his family and was known as the goofy one who could always make you laugh.
Along with his parents, Matt is survived by his sister, Allison Doman (Shannon), his nieces and nephews, Brayden Tyson and Petyon, of Romney, WV, his grandmother, Frances Haines of Kirby, WV, a special friend, Nicki Lee and her daughter, Addalynn, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024 at McKee Funeral Home, Augusta, WV at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor John Vetter officiating.  Interment will be in Hott's Chapel Cemetery, Kirby, WV.   The family will receive friends on Thursday, 6-8pm, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hampshire Co. FFA, 157 Trojan Way, Romney WV 26757 (checks to Hamp Co FFA) or to the Grassy Lick Community Center, c/o Sue Haines, 6285 Mt. Olive Rd, Rio WV 26755.
All arrangements are being handled by McKee Funeral Home, Augusta WV.
