Mary Lee Shanholtz, 89, of Romney, WV passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA with her family by her side.

Born on September 2, 1936 in Three Churches, WV, she was the daughter of the late Taylor Malcolm and Hattie (Davidson) Malcolm.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Shanholtz in 1981 and her siblings, Betty Jane Malcolm, Barbara Loy, James. T. Malcolm, Wilbur “Buzzy” Malcolm, and a son-in-law, Steve Davidson.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna Davidson and Janet Cheshire (Eddie Lewis), both of Romney, WV, grandson, Bradley Davidson (Suzanne) of Capon Bridge, great-granddaughter, Hayden Davidson, and several nieces and nephews.

Mary had worked at Kinney Shoe Factory, Romney, WV. She was a member of the Romney Moose. Mary enjoyed shopping and sitting on her porch where she kept an eye on the neighborhood but above all she enjoyed activities with her daughters and grandchildren. Family was the most important thing in her life and she never missed an opportunity to spend time with them.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at McKee Funeral Home, Augusta, WV with Pastor Denzil Davis officiating. Interment will be in Branch Mt. Baptist Cemetery, Three Churches, WV.

The family will receive friends on Monday, 6-8pm, at the funeral home.
