Mary "Claudine" Pownall, 95, of Romney, WV passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Hampshire Memorial Hospital, Romney, WV.

Born on July 30, 1929 in Hanging Rock, WV, she was the daughter of the late Claude B. Saville and Zula (Hiett) Saville.

Claudine had worked as a telephone operator and as a clerk at CVS.  She loved her family and her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin L. Pownall in 1985, and her siblings, Roy, Harry, Robert and Clarence Saville, Pauline Lee, Leona Baker, and Virginia Ruckman.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Owen of Winchester, VA and Judy Brewer of Danville, IN, 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Ebenezer Cemetery, Romney, WV with Joe Houser officiating.

All arrangements are handled by McKee Funeral Home, Romney, WV.
