Marian Lee Loy Hott, 96, of Slanesville, WV passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2026 at her home.

Born on September 6, 1929 in Ruckman, WV, she was the daughter of the late Domer W. Loy and Hazel M. (Wilkins) Loy. Marian was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and a friend to many.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lindberg “Lindy” Hott, two sons, Eddie A. Hott and Steven L. Hott, three grandsons, Cameron A. Hott, Christopher S. Hott, Troy S. Whitacre, and one sister, Betty Loy Davis.

Surviving is a daughter, Sharon L. Hott (Charles “Dickie” Garber), three grandchildren, Tina Whitacre Ladd, Steven “Shane” Hott, and Chadwick “Chad” W. Hott, 8 great- grandchildren: Samuel S. Jeeter, Sarah R. Ladd, Andrew, Owen, and Gavin Hott, Derek Lee and Kaleigh and Chloee Hott, one great-great-granddaughter, Southern Hott, and several nieces and nephews, and daughter-in-law, Judy.

Marian worked at Slanesville Grade School, National Fruit, and the sewing factory in Romney, WV. She loved to watch the hummingbirds, work crossword puzzles, read, gamble once a week, and make applebutter. Marian was a member of Augusta Christian Church.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Augusta WV with Pastors Robert Jeffries and Sam Arose officiating. Interment will be in Salem Church Cemetery, Slanesville, WV.

The family will receive friends on Monday, 4-7pm, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Bob Hott, Bill Hott, Denny Hott, Sam Jeeter, Dickie Garber, Greg Ladd, Shane Hott and Chad Hott.
