Lyle W. Daugherty, 80, of Rio, WV passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at his residence.

Born on November 1, 1943 in Hoy, WV, he was the son of the late Daniel R. Daugherty and Mary E. (Combs) Daugherty.

Lyle was a farmer and enjoyed every aspect of it from running equipment, raising horses and poultry, to puttering about in his old pickup "Charlie".  He was a family man whose pride and joy was his children and grandchildren.  He loved spending time with them and camping at Canaan.  Above all, Lyle loved the Lord and lived a life of service.  He attended Bethel Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda (Souder) Daugherty, his children, Jason Daugherty (Desiree) of Rio, WV, Holly Simmons (Ward) of Rio, WV, Wendy Staggs (Eddie) of Augusta, WV, Tammy Dove (Ivan) of Rio, WV, 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and his siblings, Larry Daugherty of Sebring, FL, James Daugherty of Inwood, WV  and Joanna Short of Winchester, VA.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rylie Daugherty.

All services will be private and handled by McKee Funeral Home, Baker, WV.
