Lona “Ruth” Wilson, 91, of Rio, WV passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Hampshire Memorial Hospital, Romney WV.

Born on December 12, 1934 in Kirby, WV, she was the daughter of the late Elmer “Perky” Swisher and Mary Ellen (Heare) Swisher.

Ruth was a loving wife and mother. She was a longtime member of Zoar Baptist Church and had helped with meals at North River Valley Vol. Fire Co. for over 50 years.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger D. Wilson and a sister, Gladys Bender.

She is survived by her son, Randy Wilson (Rachel) of Rio, WV and a niece, Cathy Baker (Roger).

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
