Obituary

Leonard W. Henson, Jr., 85, of Romney, WV passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at his son's residence.

Born on May 22, 1936 in Virginia, he was the son of the late Leonard W. Henson, Sr. and Gladys L. (Jenkins) Henson.

He retired from Sprague & Henwood Corp. in Scranton, PA, drilling for ground minerals, where he helped build the Conowingo Dam and the Cape May Lewis Ferry.  He was also part of the drilling that built the Philadelphia Veterans Stadium in 1967.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Lorraine V. (Kerns) Henson, who passed away in 2002 and by a son, Scott Henson.

He is survived by his children, Donald M. Henson of Westernport, MD, Lewis A. Henson of Elkton, MD, Sharon D. Johnson, Leisa C. Daemer, both of Selbyville, DE, 19 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 5, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Augusta, WV with Pastor Robert Jeffreys officiating. Interment will be in Island Hill Cemetery, Paw Paw, WV.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

All arrangements are being handled by McKee Funeral Home, Augusta, WV.
