Lea Dawna Oates, 69, of Augusta, WV passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA.

Born on October 17, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Ralph B. Hott, Sr. and Veiva P. Hott.

Lea was a loving mother and grandmother.  Her family was her greatest joy in life.

Along with her parents, Lea was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Franklin Oates, Jr., her daughter, Leah R. Chapman and her sisters, Karen French and Kimberly Hott.

She is survived by her son, Travus R. Oates (Kara) of Fairmont, WV, her sisters, Gail Hott of Springfield, WV, Debra Hensler of Romney, WV, Janet Orndorff of Augusta, WV and a brother, Ralph Hott, Jr. of Aliquippa, PA, 6 grandchildren: Garrett R. Oates, Tatum R. Oates, Kylie R. Bushko, Lydia V. Pierce (Sawyer), Nadylea R. Chapman, and Rayelyn J. Chapman, one great-granddaughter, Leighton Pierce and son-in-law, Greg Chapman.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Augusta, WV with Pastor Dale Myers officiating.  Interment will be in Green Lane Cemetery, Delray, WV. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
