LaRue Aileen Deem, 95, of Finksburg, MD, formerly of Augusta, WV, passed away at College Manor, Lutherville, MD on Thursday, December 9, 2021.

Born on July 4, 1926 in Jessup MD, she was the daughter of the late Alvin B. Cooley and Mary Elizabeth (Harrison) Cooley.

She had worked as a news reporter and public relations officer for the Dept. of the Army. She was a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church of Jessup, MD, a 53 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Esther Chapter #47, the American Legion Auxillary, the Panhandle Sams Recreation Club and the Pleasant Dale Homemakers.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allan R. Deem in 1993, 3 sons, William Dale German, Dean German and Donald R. German, a grandchild and 3 brothers and a sister, Charlotte Lund.

She is survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 13, 2021 at 12:00 P.M. at Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E Main St, Westminster, MD 21157 with Rev. Claire Fiedler officiating.  Interment will be in Meadowridge Memorial Park, Elkridge, MD.    The family will receive friends one hour prior.
