Katherine Ellen "Kitty" Shockey, 83, of Romney, WV passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at her residence.

Born on June 20, 1940 in Cumberland, MD, she was the daughter of the late Richard Carter and Audra (Poland) Carter.

Kitty was a member of Romney Assembly of God Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and her family was her pride and joy.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elburn Harmon Shockey, her siblings, Bonnie Rose, Tom Carter and Conda Carter and an infant grandson, Joshua Shanholtz.

She is survived by her children, Julie Linger (Tom), Annette Rowan (Tom), and Elby Shockey (Mary), all of Romney, WV, 3 grandchildren, Chris Shanholtz (Jennie), Heather Staggs (Michael), Shelby Shockey, and 4 great-grandchildren, Aiden and Emma Shanholtz, Alexa Staggs, and Ember Zirk.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Romney, WV with Pastor Tom Rowan officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior. Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Romney, WV.
