Joyce Eva Hill, 95, of Springfield, WV passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Complete Care at Dawn View, Fort Ashby, WV.

Born on August 16, 1927 in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Joseph Hill and Lydia Willworth (Suit) Hill.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings and her son, Calvin Leon Brady, Jr., who was her pride and joy.

Joyce was fiercely independent, even in her later years, and worked for 66 years as a hairdresser in Washington, D.C. She was very proud of her salon and reputation. She would often travel to appointments for her favorite clients, even after moving to Hampshire County. Joyce had a kind and generous heart. She loved to dance and was known for throwing her own birthday parties that lasted 3 days. She could do just about anything, -crochet, cook, bake, decorate and even her own home improvements. She loved to can fresh vegetables and looked forward to sharing a bushel of crabs with her special nephew, John, every year.

Joyce fought to the very end but is now reunited with her beloved son, Lee, who passed away in 1991.

Joyce is survived by her granddaughter, Ashley Brady and several nieces and nephews. She will be missed dearly by her many friends who were more like family.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Covenant Baptist Church with Pastor Dale Myers officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suiteland, MD on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 10:00 A.M.
