Jason Tyler Shingleton, 26, of Purgitsville, WV passed away on February 19, 2024.

Born on March 22, 1997 in Winchester VA, he was the son of Perry Shingleton of Purgitsville, WV and Michele Kesner Inskeep (John) of Romney, WV.

Jason was a graduate of Hampshire High School, Romney, WV where he was active in F.F.A.  He served in the U.S. Marines. He worked as a lineman for C.W. Wright.  Jason was a member of the Romney Fire Dept. and formerly the Burlington Fire Dept.  He was happiest in the firetruck doing what he loved.  Jason was a kind, humble person who was loved by all who knew him.  He always had a smile on his face and loved to make other people happy.  He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Along with his parents, Jason is survived by his grandmother, Emily Shingleton of Purgitsville, WV, siblings, Justin Scott Buckley of Martinsburg, WV, Erica Braithwaite of Keyser, WV, Colten Inskeep of Romney, WV, Maya Shingleton, Ava Shingleton, and Ellis Shingleton, all of Purgitsville, WV, uncles, Mark Kesner of Augusta, WV, Greg Kesner (Jan) of Shanks, WV and his aunts, Tammy Shingleton "Aunt T" and Karen Marwood, both of Purgitsville, WV.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jerry Shingleton and maternal grandparents, Brooks and Avery Kesner.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Romney Fire Hall, Romney WV.  The family will receive friend from noon until time of service.  Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Romney, WV.   Military rites will be accorded by the U.S. Marines.
