Janet Beverly Bledsoe of Woodstock, VA passed from this life to her heavenly home on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at the age of 90.

Born on October 10, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Roy Love Saville and Dollie Elizabeth (Snyder) Saville.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Bledsoe, a brother, Larry Donald Saville and a sister, Phyllis Arlene Gardner.

Janet is survived by a brother, Bruce Saville, five nephews: Alan Saville of Winchester, VA, Jimmy Saville of WV, Steve Gardner of Florissant, CO, Richard E. Gardner of Winchester, VA, and Larry A Gardner of Bentonville, VA and a long term neighbor and friend, Lee Guess.

A thank you is given to three devoted caregivers, Barbara Fadley, Terri Green and Diana Barton.

Before retiring to Shenandoah County, she worked in Washington, D.C. for the Department of Defense for 30 years as a physical analyst.

In her personal time, Janet enjoyed socializing with friends, doting on her poodles and engaging in crafting.

Janet was a member of the Woodstock United Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 97 and the Woodstock Garden Club where she also served as President. She worked as a volunteer with the Woodstock Clothes Closet and the Shenandoah County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Many benefited from her caring spirit.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at the Woodstock United Methodist Church with Pastor Todd Gess and Pastor Ken Bledsoe officiating.  Friends will be received from 10:00 A.M. until time of service.  A graveside service will be held in the Salem Cemetery, Slanesville, WV.
