Iris Marie Funk, 89, of Broadway, VA, formerly of Romney, WV, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Life Care Center, New Market, VA.

Born on June 24, 1936 in Baker, WV, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Ressie (Smith) Dove.

She was a member and taught Sunday school for many years at Romney Assembly of God Church. She had worked at Romney Orchards and Hampshire Manufacturing. Iris was a homemaker and enjoyed her gardens. She was a great cook and baker, especially known for her squash pies. She loved the Lord and wanted everyone to know Him.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Ersel Funk, on August 29, 2022.

She is survived by 3 sons, Randy (Debbie) of Mt. Storm, WV, Michael (Ada) of Romney, WV, Gregory (Megan) of Fulks Run, VA, 2 daughters, Beverly Pownall (Barry) of Romney, Mary Puffenbarger (Ron) of Broadway, VA, 12 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.  Also by 2 sisters, Evelyn See of Timberville, VA, Erma Brown of Strange Creek, WV and a brother, Kenneth Dove of Wardensville, WV.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. at Romney Assembly of God Church, Romney WV with Rev. James Mou officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church.  Interment will be in Hott's Chapel Cemetery, Kirby, WV.  A meal will follow at Christ Community Church, Augusta, WV.
