Obituary

Harry William Meek, 74, of Burlington, WV passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV, surrounded by his family.

Born on March 26, 1946 in Three Churches, WV, he was the son of the late Harry Wilbur Henry Meek and Sarah Louise Hershey.

Harry was a 1964 graduate of Keyser High School. He worked as an extruder operator for 38 years at Automated Packaging Co. He was a life member of the NRA, a member of the Beaver Run Church of the Brethren and served in the US Navy as a Radioman on the USS Liddle.

Harry was an avid sportsman, who loved the outdoors and hunting, especially with his children and grandchildren. He loved traveling and had a passion for US history, particularly battlefields. Harry has made several trips out west with his children and grandchildren, and one of his favorite locations was the Rocky Mountains. But Harry's greatest love was for his family and the time he got to spend with them.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Weatherholtz Meek, two sons, Billy Meek and wife Shannon, Adam Meek and wife Selina, both of Keyser, WV, three special grandchildren, Sarah, Mason and Jeremy Meek; two brothers Steve Meek and wife Darlene of Keyser and Ronnie McDonald of Burlington, WV; two sisters, Vicki Hartman and husband Sam, of Bunker Hill, WV and Gayle Kasmier and husband Kevin of Keyser, WV;  four step-children, Joey Barrick, Jason Barrick, Betty Jo Schultz and Crystal McDonald and twelve step-grandchildren.

A private burial will be held at Branch Mt. Methodist Cemetery, Three Churches, WV.  A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the cemetery.

All arrangements are being handled by McKee Funeral Home, Romney, WV.
