Harry Joe Cheshire, 78, of Cross Junction, VA passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA.

Born on September 17, 1946 in Romney, WV, he was the son of the late Lee F. Cheshire and Cora (Shanholtz) Cheshire.

Harry had retired as a foreman from Shockey's after 44 years working in concrete. In his spare time he enjoyed working on old clocks and vehicles, hunting, gardening and butchering. His biggest joy in life was his family, especially his proud role as Pap Pap to his grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Susan R. (Norr) Cheshire, a son, Harry Joe Cheshire, II, 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

He is survived by his children, Rebecca L. Rodriguez of Winchester, VA, Heather J. Onzura of Winchester, VA, and Brandi N. Mead of Yellow Springs, WV, 11 grandchildren, 2 step-grandsons, and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Augusta WV with Carolyn Cordova officiating.  Interment will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Siler, VA.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 11am until time of service at 1pm.
