Gladys V. Bender, 84, of Augusta, WV, went to be with our Lord, Wednesday, April 24,2024.

Born on March 22,1940, in Kirby, WV. Gladys was a devoted Christian who loved helping others.

Being a teacher at both Capon Bridge Middle School and Hampshire High School for over 32 years, many of you had the opportunity to know her. She loved teaching and enjoyed seeing students years later to hear about their lives. She wanted to be remembered as "someone who made life a little easier for at least one person."

Gladys is survived by her loving family: daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Roger Baker, her sister, Ruth Wilson, her daughter-in-law, Angela Y. Bender, grandchildren, Lindsey Taylor (Andrew), Chandler Bender, Trinity Bender and her great-grandchildren, Bella and Mykah Taylor and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin "Ray" Bender, and son, Steven "Jack" Bender.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at the Main Street Grill Banquet Room from 1:30 -3:30. Come and share your memories of her.
