Gerald "Jerry"Oscar Welsh, 79, of Mathias WV passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Inova Loudon Hospital, Leesburg, VA.

Born on February 10, 1945 in Takoma Park, MD, he was the son of the late Charles F. Welsh and Marjorie H. (Peters) Welsh.

Gerald loved his family and was a very caring friend. His other love and passion in life was stock car racing.  In his younger years, as a driver and later as a builder and crew chief for his son, Keith.  He also enjoyed fishing and going to the casino.  He served in the U.S. Army.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Keith Welsh, brother, Frank Welsh and sister-in-law, Hilda Welsh.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, June (Weakley) Welsh, a brother, Eddie Welsh and wife Anne, sister-in-law's, Joan Ingersoll, Linda Weakley, brother-in-law, Leonard Weakley and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday November 16, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Coolfont Resort, Berkeley Springs, WV.
