Elton Adam Judy, 98, of Pleasant Dale, WV passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA surrounded by his loving family.
Born on November 7, 1926 in Glebe, WV, he was the son of the late Adam Seymour Judy and Mildred Wave (Pyles) Judy.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Donna Iser, Mark Judy, a grandson, Anthony Iser, siblings, Mildred Jenkins and William Sterling Judy and son-in-laws, Freddie Teaford and Delmas Iser.
Elton served in the U.S. Air Force in WWII and returned home to marry Willmetta "Wink" Shawen in August of 1946. Together they started a family and their entrepreneur endeavors led them to start the family business of Judy's Mobile Homes in Shanks, WV. Elton lived a life of community service being a charter member of the Augusta Ruritan and the Fire Company in Augusta. He and his wife were active in their church, Augusta United Methodist, since the 1950s, serving in many capacities. Elton was a founding member and President of the Gideons International, Hampshire Camp, supporting the giving of the Holy Bible around the world.
Surviving is his wife Willmetta "Wink" (Shawen) Judy and his children, Diana Teaford of Arlington, VA, Debbie Boyce (Danny) of Yellow Springs, WV, Alan Judy (Linda) of Shanks, WV, Angie Marple (Terry) of Shanks, WV, Billy Judy (Judy) of Augusta, WV, 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at the Augusta United Methodist Church, Augusta, WV with Rev. Eric Beeman and Jason Judy officiating. Grandsons will be pallbearers. Interment will be in Malick Cemetery, Augusta, WV. Military graveside rites will be accorded by the U.S. Army.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, 2-4pm and 6-8pm, at McKee Funeral Home, Augusta, WV.
Memorial donations may be made to Gideons International, Hampshire Camp, PO Box 240, Romney, WV 26757 or Augusta United Methodist Church, 17112 Northwestern Pike, Augusta WV 26704.
All arrangements are being handled by McKee Funeral Home, Augusta, WV.
