Douglas Lee Bauer, 75, of Augusta, WV passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026 at his home under the care of Hospice and surrounded by his family.

Born on November 8, 1950 in Shanks, WV, he was the son of the late John Bauer and Virginia (Speelman) Bauer.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Laressa Sue Bauer, a daughter, Linda Bauer and his siblings, MaryLou Brown, Ruth McBride, and John Bauer.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne Bauer, children, Laura Anderson (Brian) of Winchester, VA, Donny Bauer of Capon Bridge, grandchildren, Loranda, Drake, Doran, Lindsey, Trevor and Donovan, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 step-sons, 2 step-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

Doug was a graduate of Hampshire High School, Romney, WV and a truck driver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was a proud Pap to his grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at McKee Funeral Home at 7:00 P.M. with Pastor Denzil Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until time of service.
