Dorothy Susan Barnes Corey, 85, of Romney, WV passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Hampshire Center, Romney, WV.

Born on October 13, 1938 in Three Churches, WV, she was the daughter of the late Albert W. Barnes and Neva B. (Blackburn) Barnes.

Dorothy enjoyed cooking and hosting family gatherings and dinners and doing jigsaw puzzles.  She believed in the power of prayer and took her problems to the Lord.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Stephen Corey, Gregg Corey, Daniel Corey and siblings, Wanda McGuire, Alec, Robert and Jimmy Barnes.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheryl Pennington of Harrison, Ohio, a son, David Corey of Romney, WV, a sister, Mary Webster of Springfield, VA, a brother, Richard Barnes of Romney, WV, 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 5:00 P.M. at Romney Assembly of God Church, Romney, WV with Pastor Nathan Travis officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by McKee Funeral Home, Augusta, WV.
