Obituary

Donna Jean Fauver, 71, of Winchester, VA, passed away peacefully at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center, on Thursday, January 1, 2026.
Donna was born in Green Spring, WV on November 14, 1954 to the late John Thomas Reel and Dorothy Lee Pyles Reel. She was the baby of 6 children. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Leona Lechliter, Rosie Fauver,  Mary Lou Waybright, and John Thomas Reel, Jr. Donna is survived by her brother, Charles "Pete" Edward Reel and sister in-law Beverly "Pixie" Ann Reel of Augusta, WV.
Donna is the proud mother of 5 children and 3 in-laws: Heaven K Reel, Magnolia B Reel and son-in-law Jonathan Hodges, John T Fauver and daughter-in-law Valerie E Fauver, Brian W Fauver and daughter-in-law Emily K Short, and Ocean P Fauver Kuhn.
In addition to bragging about her kids, Donna loved to tell everyone about her grandkids: Madison Fauver USAF, Preston Fauver USAF, Noah Fauver, Trinnon Hodges, Halibel Hodges, Thalia Hodges, and Grace Kuhn. Two years ago, Donna's only great grandson, Grayson Andrews, was born. Given Donna's love of making new connections with others, there are many other family members, blood or bond, that she leaves behind which will miss her smiling face every day.
Donna is a former CNA who worked for years in many nursing homes throughout Virginia before taking her passion of caring for others to become a private care companion. She provided support for others in this capacity until her early retirement. Outside of work, Donna loved to crochet and make blankets for her loved ones, play video games, watch scary movies, and tell "true" ghost stories. If there is one quote that sums up Donna as an individual, it would be "You can be a survivor or you can be a victim." Donna faced many challenges throughout her life but always fought and overcame all obstacles laid in front of her.
