Dolen Odell Hott, 65, of Kirby, WV passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at his home with his family by his side.

Born on April 20, 1960 in Romney, WV, he was the son of the late Dolan I. Hott and Dorothy P. (Sulser) Hott. He was a lifelong resident of Kirby.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 infant brothers, Keith Duckworth and George Varner Hott.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Leanna D. (Heare) Hott, 3 daughters, Krista Dawn Hott, Kristina Lynn Whetzel and husband Junior, Carol Ann Nazelrod and husband James, all of Kirby, his sisters, Dona Kay Timbrook (Ronald), Loretta Fay Timbrook (Paul), Sheila Ann Hott (Bobby), all of Augusta, WV a brother, Harry Duckworth of Dundalk, MD and his grandchildren whom he dearly loved, Corey Marie Cheshire, Katlynn Cheshire, Alex Jessie Cheshire and James Nazelrod, Jr.

Odell had worked for Galen Shingleton's saw mill, Department of Natural Resources, and Loudon Heights mulch plant, Baker, WV.  He was always willing to help friends and family with anything he could. He had fought colon cancer in 2015 and again in 2025 with bile duct cancer ending his battle.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Augusta WV with Pastor Denzil Davis officiating.  Interment will be in Hott's Chapel Cemetery, Kirby, WV. The family will receive friends one hour prior.
