Constance "Connie" Jean Gross, 81, of Romney WV went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 29, 2026 at Hampshire Center, Romney, WV.

Born on September 30, 1944 in Shanks WV, she was the daughter late Jarrett Lupton McDonald and H. Pauline (Haines) McDonald Powell.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Johnny Gross and two brothers, Jerry and Paul McDonald.

Connie is survived by her children, Troy Gross (Julia), Mark Gross (Karen), and Kelly Gross. She was blessed with 4 grandchildren: Kierstin Howard, Katelyn Gross, Kelsey Gross and Marissa Evans and 6 great grandchildren: Kylie Kesner, Jayden Howard, Kinsley Howard, Carsyn Howard, Addison Scott and Teddy Lee Evans. She is also survived by her sister, Judy Loy of Shanks, WV and numerous nieces and nephews.

Connie was a graduate of Hampshire High, Class of 1962. She was a Trojan Majorette during those years and it always brought a smile to her face to talk about those times. In her early years she stayed home raising her children. Later in life she worked various jobs.

She never missed an opportunity to have a good time whether that was talking with friends and family, playing a round of UNO, finding a good yard sale deal or just spending time with her loved ones. If Connie was there a good chat and laughter was to follow.

Connie was blessed with many riches in life that were worth more than any amount of money could compare to. She had a heart of gold and had children, grandchildren and great children who loved her dearly as well as her many family and friends.

She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her for that smile and those words of hers that always made you feel special and loved.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 3:00 - 5 P.M. at Tearcoat Covenant Brethen Church, in Augusta, WV with Pastor Donald Judy officiating.

Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Romney WV at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ebenezer Cemetery, c/o Matt Clower, 353 Summit Dr, Romney, WV 26757.

Arrangements are being handled by McKee Funeral Home, Augusta, WV.
