Claris C Alkire, 89, of Winchester, VA passed away on March 10, 2024, at Angel Garden Senior Community, Dacula, GA.

Born January, 17,1935  in Hoy, WV, she was the daughter of the late Riley and Amy (Poland) Combs.

She worked many years as a teller at Wachovia Bank, formerly Shenandoah Valley National, in Winchester. She was a member of Sunnyside Presbyterian church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald W. Alkire, brother, Welton Combs, sisters, Pearl Ruckman, Madelyn Lewis, Mary Daugherty and Helen Lewis.

Surviving is a daughter, Deborah A. Tizio and husband Bart of Allentown, PA, a sister-in-law, Janet Crabtree of Cumberland, MD; four grandchildren: Bart Tizio, Megan Marra, Amanda Caggiano, Hannah White and 13 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at McKee Funeral Home, Augusta, WV.  The family will receive friends one hour prior.
