Carl Effenger Wratchford, 96, of Old Fields, WV passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at his residence.

Born on February 9, 1925 in Moorefield, WV, he was the son of the late H. Ashby Wratchford and Lucy Wilson Wratchford.

He served in the US Navy in WWII and Korea.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and an amateur taxidermist.  He coached Boys club baseball for 30 years and volunteered with Meals on Wheels.  He attended the Methodist Church where he served as a Trustee.  He retired as an auto mechanic shop foreman with the Dept. of Defense, US Army.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Damie Riggleman Wratchford, a sister, Mildren Niecus, infant sister, Arleta, a brother, Wayne Wratchford,

He is survived by a daughter, Brenda Higgins of College Park, MD, a son, Carl Wratchford, Jr. of The Villages, FLA, a foster brother, Carl "Tony" A. Wilson, 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Services will be private and held at a later date.

All arrangements are being handled by McKee Funeral Home, Baker, WV.
