Brian Reid, 71, of Augusta, West Virginia passed away on September 11, 2024, he was out in the yard doing what he loved to do.

Brian was born on October 14, 1952, to Harry Reid Sr. and Helen Scureman. Brian grew up in Sherwood Park II and attended school at Lora Little Elementary School. Upon graduating from Dickenson High School in 1970 he started his 37-year Federal Technician career, working for the Delaware Army National Guard. Brian then retired from the Delaware National Guard Federal Technician program; transferring to the Maryland National Guard where he continued to serve until 2012.

In 1974, Brian Reid and Robin Kane met at the Stone Balloon in Newark DE and a year later on April 27, 1975, they were married at the Limestone Presbyterian Church. Brian and Robin started a family in 1976 with the birth of their oldest son Paul, then daughter Laura and son Mark. Brian has seven grandchildren: Michael, Melanie, Emily, Brianna, Shianne, Shian, and Syncier and one great grandchild, Elliott. Brian is survived by brothers, Jeffrey and Harry Reid.

Brian is most proud of his family and serving his country in the Army National Guard for 41 years. He has made friends all over the world and with most strangers. He was the type of man you met once and loved forever.

Brian and Robin retired to West Virginia in 2003 where they built a wilderness paradise for generations to enjoy.

Funeral service will be held at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road Bear, DE 19701 with full military honors.
