Barbara Ann
Cunningham
Feb 27, 1936 — Feb 13, 2025
Romney
Barbara Ann Cunningham, 88, of Romney, WV passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, February 13, 2025. She is now united in Heaven with the love of her life, Grant Cunningham, and precious beloved daughter, Cheryl Lynn Haslacker.
Barbara was born on Feb. 27, 1936 in The Plains, VA, to Chris and Minnie Lawson. She was the youngest of 12 children. After graduation, Barbara worked as an administrative assistant for the Pentagon, Allegany Ballstics, and the Romney Sewing factory.
She married Grant Cunningham and followed her prince to Hampshire County to raise her family and share so much love with so many. Barb was one of a kind. She lived and breathed for her family, adored her friends, and was a faithful servant to our Lord Jesus Christ. With great love of her country and community, Barb spent much of her time volunteering and doing for others. She will be dearly missed by so many.
Barbara loved to sing in the choir, work in her garden, cook for others, dance, bowl, travel and most of all be with her family. Her favorite time of year was Christmas. She always welcomed people into her heart and home with open arms.
She is survived by her son, Bruce Timothy Cunningham (Michelle), granddaughter, Shannon Nichols (Tommy), grandsons, Christopher Cunningham (Loren), Tyler Chase (Trisha), great-granddaughters, Morgan Nichols (Jeff), Bridget Nichols, great-grandsons, Lincoln and Maverick Cunningham, great-great-grandchildren, Jaxson Lear, Lily Mitchell, Ruby Lynn Mitchell and Navy Raye Mitchell. What a beautiful legacy she has left behind.
Barbara requested to be cremated and to have a graveside ceremony in the Spring when the flowers are blooming. Barbara would like donations to be made to the Hampshire County Senior center instead of flowers. Again she wants to share her love and joy with others.
All arrangements are handled by McKee Funeral Home, Romney WV.
