Arbutus O. Largent, 78, of Romney, WV passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at her residence.

Born on April 19,1945 in Cumberland, MD, she was the daughter of the late Howard "Dink" Steward and Marjorie (Shanholtz) Landis.

Arbutus retired from the WVDB School as a house parent. She was a life member and a Gold Star Sister of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 91, a past member of the Romney Fire Co. Auxiliary. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and her family was her pride and joy.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Floyd Steward.

She is survived by her husband, James W. Largent of 58 years, son, Mike Largent and wife Becky, Romney, Kay Boyer, Capon Bridge, Michelle Loy, Winchester, and a sister, Zanna Duling, Romney; grandchildren, Amanda Dunlap and husband Joe, Stephanie Adams and husband Jesse, Bo Boyer and wife Shannon, Josh Loy and Jordan Loy and great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Meredith and Fallon Boyer, Lundy Adams, Indiana Dunlap, and Caisen Loy.

The family will receive friends at McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Augusta, WV on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from noon until 2:00 P.M followed by a funeral service at 2:00 P.M. Officiating will be Pastor Denzil Davis.  Interment will be at Branch Mt. Methodist Church, Three Churches, WV.
