Allen Glenn Shanholtz, of Augusta,WV passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Born on April 23, 1962, in Winchester, Virginia, he was the son of the late Auther Eugene Shanholtz and Margaret Louise Wright.

Allen dedicated 22 years of his career as a foreman and equipment operator with K.C. Johnson in Gainesville, Virginia, before retiring in 2024. He was a hardworking man who took great pride in providing for his family.

Outside of work, Allen enjoyed camping, hunting, working on his beloved 1968 Chevy truck, taking trips to the beach, and, above all, spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, kind heart, and unwavering love and devotion to those he cherished most.

In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Lee Shanholtz, and his lifelong best friend, Russell "Cubby" Davis.

He leaves behind his loving wife, whom he affectionately called his "angel on earth," Dianna Shanholtz; his brothers, Pete Shanholtz (Kimberly) and David Shanholtz (Patsy); his brother by choice, Melvin Roomsburg (Junior); his children, Stacey Bean (Robert), Kari Shank (Doug), Matthew Shanholtz (Valerie), Chris Hinkle Jr. (Julie), and Hunter Hinkle; 20 cherished grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild expected to join the family soon.

Allen's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of Allen's life will be held at a later date. The family will announce details when they become available.
