Howard Leslie Lee
Howard Leslie Lee 85 of Delray, WV passed away on Saturday March 1, 2008 in Winchester Medical Center.
Born on May 11, 1922 in Delray, he was the son of the late Robert H. and Cora Mae (Bean) Lee.
He was an army veteran of WW11, he served as postmaster in Delray for 32 years, owned and operated Lee Grocery, served as an appraiser for Hampshire County Assessors office, Christian by faith and attended church in Delray, charter member of the North River Valley Volunteer Fire Company, honorary member of Rio-Delray Ruritan Club, American Legion Post 134, V.F.W Post 1101, Romney, and Modern Woodmen of America Camp in Delray.
Howard is survived by his wife, Violet L. (Park) Lee, also surviving are a daughter, Deborah Alderman of Delray, 2 sons, Gary E. Lee of Saguas, CA, Mark S. Lee of Delray, 2 sisters, Ethel Runkles of Hedgesville, WV, Eula Lupton of Delray, 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son Wayne G. Lee, and 2 sisters, Lena Hazy, Gladys Hite.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday March 6, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. in the McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Augusta, WV with Eldridge Kerns, minister officiating.
Interment will follow in the Green Lane Cemetery, Delray, WV.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday 6-8 at the funeral home.
