Luther Eugene Whetzel Sr.

Luther Eugene Whetzel Sr. 70 of Rio, WV passed away on Sunday February 17, 2008 at his home.

Born on June 17, 1937 in Fort Run, WV he was the son of the later Aldin Burl and Pauline C. (Crawford) Whetzel.

He was a truck driver and farmer. He was a member of the Moorefield Church of the brethren and pas member of the Moorefield Vol. Fire Co. 46.

He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Lou (Hambleton) Whetzel, a son, Bradley Allen Whetzel and a sister, Daisy M. See also preceded him in death.

Luther is survived by a son Luther E. Whetzel Jr. of Rio, WV, a brother, Charles E. Whetzel of Harrisonburg, VA, and 6 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 20, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. in the McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Baker, WV with Pastor Russell Webster and Rev. Sherwin Tharp officiating.

Interment will follow in Olivet Cemetery, Moorefield, WV.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday 2-4 &7-9 at the funeral home.
