Ethel Virginia Wilkins

Ethel Virginia Wilkins age 95, of Baker, WV passed this life on December 6, 2007 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.  She was born September 22, 1912 in Thorn bottom, WV the daughter of Benjamin F. and Ella F. (Dietz) Gochenour.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Lost River CEOs, Mathias Church of the Brethren, and Mathias-Baker Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

Ethel is preceded in death by one brother, Gilbert “Buddy” Gochenour and four sisters, Bessie Wratchford, Lena Delawder, Lizzie Funkhouser and Hattie Combs.

She is survived by her husband Ervin O. Wilkins Sr. whom she married on January 1, 1944 in Mathias. Also surviving one son Ervin Wilkins Jr. and wife Norma J.  of Baker, one daughter Phyllis Grafton and husband G. Donald Grafton of Stratford, CT, one sister Wilda Llewellyn of Ridgeley, WV,   four grandchildren, DelRay Wilkings and Patricia Wilkins of Baker, Donald Grafton and his wife Lisa and son Lucas of Plainville, CT, Brian Grafton and his wife Heather of Mandeville, LA and a step granddaughter Dianne Scaffidi and her husband Steve and sons Nathan and Robert of Middleton, MA.

A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday December 9, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at the Mathias Church of the Brethren with Rev. Olin Bailey and Rev. Landis Dove officiating.

Internment will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mathias.

The family will receive friends on Saturday December 8, from 6-8 at the McKEE Funeral Home in Baker, WV.
