Kenneth Blake McKee

Kenneth Blake McKee 84 of Slanesville, WV passed away on Sunday December 2, 2007 in Winchester Medical Center.

Born on November 29, 1923 in Kirby, WV, he was the son of the late Charlie and Hannah ( Haines) McKee.

Mr. McKee graduated from Romney High School, Class of 1943, entered the military in 1944. He was proud to have been a paratrooper in the 11th Airbourne Division of the US Army, serving in the Phillippines and Japan. Upon his discharge in 1946, he made farming his lifelong profession. Kenneth was an avid lover of the land, always treasuring the changing of the seasons, especially fall. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Calvin McKee, Hoy McKee and 2 sisters, Elsie McKee and Pauline Rexrode.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 61 years, Wilda (Haines) McKee, also surviving are 2 sons, Michael Blake McKee and wife Gloria , John David McKee and wife Carol both of Slanesville,WV, 2 brothers, Lloyd McKee of Orlando, FL, Robert McKee of Kirby, WV, four grandchildren, Melanie McKee Pack & husband Chris, Michael Paul McKee, Mollie McKee Burnside & husband Sam , Zachary McKee, 1 step-grandson, Gary Potter & wife Kim and a step-great-granddaughter, Savannah.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 5, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. in the McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Augusta, WV with Rev. Harold George and Rev. William Fout officiating.

Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery, Points, WV. Military rites will be accorded by the Hampshire County Veterans Organization.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 at the funeral home.
