Forrest S. Moreland

Forrest S. Moreland 90, resident of Dawn View Center & formerly of Romney passed away on November 10, 2007 surrounded by  his family at the Sacred Heart Hospital Cumberland, MD. Born October 4, 1917 in Levels, WV he was the son of the late Isaac Moreland and Bessie Largent Moreland. He retired from the B & O Railroad as a Welder’s Assistant, was an avid gardener and hunter and was a member of the Oak Grove Church of Brethren. He volunteered his time to various organizations and community services.

Surviving is two daughters Nancy Portness of Highview, WV and Patricia Shoop of Augusta, WV; two sons Larry S. Moreland of Ridgeley, WV and Lynnwood F. Moreland of Winchester, VA; two sisters Fann Bechtol of Cumberland, MD and Hilda Kidwell of Points, WV; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by his wife Ina June (Abe) on July 22, 1982, one son Roger Lee Moreland, two sisters Pauline Cowgill and Goldie Strosnider; two brothers Ralph and Chester Moreland.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday November 13, 2007 at 11:00 A.M.  at the McKEE Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta with Rev. Ed Weaver officiating.  Interment will follow at the Levels Cemetery Levels, WV.  Family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 at the funeral home.
